nvidia geforce fx 5700 turns monitor into power saving mode when playing games?

HI i have an amd athlon 3700 motherboard is asus A8V-MX socket 939.
The other day i added a geforce fx 5700 graphics card, but everytime i try to play a game the monitor goes into power saving mode and turns off. I did have an on board
If it turns on with the 5700 with no issues, you could have left your computer on power saving mode if you're using vista(that computer is compatible for all of you thinking it's not), I can't help you much because I don't know what kind of power saving
